WisdomTree Asset Management is an investment management firm specializing in exchange traded funds (ETFs). It is listed on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol WETF.[1] The company oversees approximately $60 billion worth of assets for customers.[2]

In November 2019, WisdomTree Asset Management announced a new exchange traded product (ETP) that tracks the price of bitcoin, allowing investors to get exposure to bitcoin without needing to directly hold any digital assets. Jason Guthrie, WisdomTree Europe’s head of capital markets, said that customer bitcoins would be held in cold storage, and would be traded on Switzerland's SIX stock exchange.[3][4]

In January 2020, WisdomTree led a $17.6 million Series A funding round for Securrency, a security token compliance startup. Securrency mainly offers compliance tools for banks and financial service firms that automate regulatory enforcement.[5] Later that month a report from Financial News London said that WisdomTree was planning on launching a regulated stablecoin in the U.S. According to the report, the stablecoin would have its value tied to a basket of assets, including gold, fiat currencies, or government debt.[6]
