ThunderCore's blockchain launched in May 2019. It was designed to be fully compatible with applications running on Ethereum. At the major industry conference, Consensus 2019, company chief scientist Elaine Shi announced the release on Github of proof-of-concept code for Pala. Pala is a protocol for managing "bad actors" on Proof-of-stake-based blockchain networks.
ThunderCore's native token is called Thunder Token.
On March 10, 2021, the company announced in a blog post that cross-chain service between Thunder Tokens and BNB and BUSD, respectively the native coin of the Binance Smart Chain and the Binance dollar stablecoin, had launched. According to the post, "Through the cross-chain service, BNB and BUSD assets on BSC will be transferred to ThunderCore as wrapped tokens shown as TT-BNB and TT-BUSD."
