Nano (NANO) is a cryptocurrency that is based on block lattice, which was designed by Colin LeMaheiu, the founder of the Nano Foundation. The technology was first used in a currency called Raiblocks, of which Nano is more or less the successor. The block lattice creates an individual blockchain for each transaction, allowing for faster transactions and cheaper mining.[1]

With a market capitalization of about $211 million, Nano was the 35th largest cryptocurrency on April 15, 2019, according to CoinMarketCap, an online industry data reporting service.[2]
