Kelly Loeffler
Kelly Loeffler is the former CEO of Bakkt, a digital asset services subsidiary of the Intercontinental Exchange.[1] Before taking the Bakkt post, she served as chief communications and marketing officer at Intercontinental Exchange. The company announced in March 2018 that she would be stepping down from the position at the end of 2018. She has been with ICE for 16 years.[2][3] She was responsible for ICE's investor relations, public relations, corporate communications, marketing and brand strategy. In September, she wrote a post in the company's blog explaining that the company intends Bakkt to function like a regulated futures market, rather than an unregulated crypto exchange. The company hopes to help develop the crypto market infrastructure by building Bakkt off of existing futures market practices.[4] In December 2019, Loeffler resigned from her position with Bakkt to become a U.S. senator (R., GA). She later joined the Senate Agricultural Committee, which has jurisdiction over the CFTC.[5][6] References
