The Yield Protocol was developed by Dan Robinson and Allan Niemerg with sponsorship from Paradigm Fund. The Yield Protocol provides a method for lending and borrowing on the Ethereum blockchain.

"yTokens," which are created pursuant to the Yield Protocol, are settled to "the value of a target asset on a specified future date, and which is backed by some quantity of a collateral asset," according to the April 2020 working draft by the developers.[1]
