Wei Dai is a software engineer credited with the concept of b-money, which he described in an essay in 1998. B-money is a theoretical concept in which pseudonymous users on a computer network trade with each other using digital currency verified with SHA-1 hash functions. This theory is considered a significant influence in the creation of bitcoin, blockchain, and other cryptocurrency technology.
