The New York City Blockchain Center is an industry hub for blockchain technology located at 54 W. 21st St. in New York city. It opened in January 2019.

The NYC Blockchain Center aims to provide an environment for public education, academic debate, and opportunity for entrepreneurs and established businesses. The center will be funded through membership dues and corporate partnerships. It was designed to be a "neutral spot" in which no single platform, company, or group dominates. The center also plans on offering coding classes and lunch lectures, in addition to other services, for software developers and the general public.[1] In May 2018 Karen Bhatia, a vice president at the NYCEDC, said that part of the center's purpose will be to provide a place for regulators and entrepreneurs to "sit down and have a real discussion about how blockchain regulations, including the BitLicense, are affecting innovation and entrepreneurship in New York City."[2]

The New York City Blockchain Center was announced in May 2018 as part of several initiatives by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to improve New York City's presence in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries.[3]

The center was built as a joint effort by the NYCEDC with partners Future/Perfect Ventures and the Global Blockchain Business Council. Other business partners include the Microsoft Corporation and IBM. The city of New York provided a one-time initial investment of $100,000 to the development of the New York City Blockchain Center.[4]
