On June 24, 2015 the New York State Department of Financial Services published a set of rules, "Virtual Currencies" as Part 200 of Chapter 1 of Title 23 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations the application of which results in a so-called Bitlicense granted by the Department. It is the only comprehensive set of regulations for cryptocurrency businesses in the U.S.
