Having attracted $1.5 million in late 2017 in venture capital funding, Sharon Goldberg and Ethan Heilman, both formerly of TumbleBit, a bitcoin payment hub, formed Commonwealth Crypto.[1] The company developed a protocol that would allow traders on cryptocurrency exchanges to keep control of their coins by maintaining their own wallets.[2]
